Funeral services for Mahlon Frederick MANSON will be held at   the Masonic Temple Sunday afternoon at 3 in charge of Rev. George   Switzer of St. Joseph, Michigan and Dr. John Ward of   Crawfordsville. The body will lie in state from one o'clock until   the time of the service. The Masonic service will be given by   Judge Jere West. The pall bearers will be Lewis, Arthur, Byron,   George and Paul Manson, sons of the deceased and Mahlon Manson of   Terre Haute; Fred VanHook of Ogden, Arkansas; and John B. Vrooman   of Wichita, KS. The honorary pall bearers are Lewis Hornady,   Harry Fine, GS McCluer, Henry Schenck, Charles Cadwallader and   Dumont Kennedy.  Crawfordsville, April 11 – Funeral services for Mahlon F. Manson, 77 years old, prominent Crawfordsville resident who died here Thursday night will be held in the Masonic temple here tomorrow afternoon in charge of the Masonic lodge. Jere West, a member of the public service commission and former judge of Montgomery Circuit Court will conduct the rites. Mr. Manson for 25 years was identified with the business life of Crawfordsville and during the later years of his life was interested in Indiana coal mines. He was born in this city in 1853, the son of Brig. Gen. Mahlon D. Manson. He was educated in the common schools of Crawfordsville and then attended Wabash College.  When a small boy Mr. Manson was an eyewitness of the battle at Lookout mountain and a few years ago was made an honorary member of GAR.  He was a volunteer with the Montgomery County Guards, which was organize din this city after the civil war. When a member of this unit Mr. Manson served under Gen. Lew Wallace. His death leaves but three survivors of the organization.  Mr. Manson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Shrine. He had been identified with many organizations here. Survivors are the widow and five sons. Preceding the service at the temple, the body will lie in state two hours.
